3804609 - Kafka Sender - Messages remain in PROCESSING when an RFC call hangs without a timeout

Symptom

  • Messages consumed by the Kafka Sender remain in PROCESSING status and subsequent messages from the same Kafka partition are not processed.
  • A message may remain in processing for an extended period while an RFC Receiver call is executing or waiting for a response.
  • In some cases, the message processing trace may show repeated messages such as:
    • JCo repository cache for destination <destination> requires refresh
      The affected exchange may remain blocked until the integration flow is redeployed or otherwise released.
