3805213 - 'Identification does not match the specifications in Customizing' during SSCC update and PGI (scope item 1ZQ)

During Warehouse Shipping Advice, WAREHOUSESHIPPINGADVICE_IN, received from the 3PL warehouse system, message processing fails with the error: "Identification &1 does not match the specifications in Customizing."

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open the Message Monitoring app.
2. Locate the failing Warehouse Shipping Advice message from the 3PL.
3. Reprocess the message.
4. Observe that processing stops with the error “Identification … does not match the specifications in Customizing.”

SSCC/Handling Unit identification failed validation against Customizing during packaging data generation (HUFUNCTIONS). This could be due to different reasons related to the HU data in the payload. Some scenarios are listed below:

• SSCC values did not align with the configured SSCC determination rules.
• Duplicate SSCC IDs in the payload.
• Batch number not maintained when packing material that is batch-managed.

Review the payload data received from the 3PL Warehouse that could impact the packing for the delivery item, as mentioned below:

• Verify external HU/SSCC number‑range and SSCC determination Customizing aligns with the 18‑digit SSCCs used by the 3PL (including GS1/ILN and related parameters) to avoid “Identification … does not match the specifications in Customizing.”

• • Use the correct extension digit according to configuration. 
  • Use the correct ILN length as maintained. 
  • the SSCC ID totals 18 digits.

• Check there are no duplicate HU IDs in the payload
• For batch‑managed outbound delivery items, populate the required batch number on the delivery item in the payload.

Adjust the payload for the incorrect data and reprocess the message in the Message Monitoring app.
