Symptom
Inbound delivery confirmation for a stock transport order fails at the receiving warehouse due to shelf-life validation message 12 008: Shortfall of &2 &3 against SLED in current item (&1)
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
- Create a stock transport order (STO).
- Create the outbound delivery for the STO and send it to the supplying warehouse.
- Confirm shipment and post goods issue at the supplying warehouse.
- Allow the inbound delivery to be created automatically for the receiving warehouse.
- Attempt to confirm receipt at the receiving warehouse; the inbound interface fails with SLED shortfall errors.
Cause
The minimum remaining shelf life is maintained in the material master record or in the purchase order. The minimum remaining shelf life is the minimum number of days for which the material must keep for the goods receipt to be accepted by the system.
Resolution
If the business requirement is to allow goods receipt posting despite the SLED shortfall, change the message type, for the message number 12 008, from Error to Warning in SSCUI 103897 (Set System Messages in Inventory Management).
