3805295 - HR Manager Does Not Receive Email Notification CC with Onboarding Role-Based Recipient Builder - Onboarding

An email notification is configured with Onboarding Role-Based Recipient Builder as the CC recipient builder, with HR Manager selected in the Roles field. Despite the HR Manager being correctly assigned in EC Job Relationships, the CC is not sent and the HR Manager does not receive the notification.

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding

1. Navigate to Admin Center > Email Services.
2. Open the email notification template where HR Manager is configured as a CC recipient using Onboarding Role-Based Recipient Builder.
3. Confirm that the HR Manager is assigned in EC Job Relationships for the affected employee.
4. Trigger the onboarding notification.
5. Observe that the email is sent without the HR Manager in CC.

The Onboarding Role-Based Recipient Builder resolves CC recipients from the ONB2Process participant assignments created at process initiation. If the HR Manager role is not present in the ONB2Process participant list at the time the notification is evaluated, the CC field resolves as empty, regardless of the EC Job Relationship configuration.

The Onboarding Process Task Role-Based Recipient Builder resolves recipient roles from EC Job Relationships at the time the notification is evaluated, independently of the ONB2Process participant list. Changing the CC recipient builder to this option ensures that the HR Manager is resolved from EC whenever the Job Relationship is correctly configured. Both builders are documented options in the SAP Help Portal guide Content and Recipient Builders | SAP Help Portal.

1. Navigate to Admin Center > Email Services.
2. Open the affected email notification template.
3. Locate the CC Recipient Builder field.
4. Change the value from Onboarding Role-Based Recipient Builder to Onboarding Process Task Role-Based Recipient Builder. Note: Verify that HR Manager remains selected in the Roles field after the change.
5. Click Save.

After completing these steps, the notification is sent with the HR Manager in CC for all employees who have an HR Manager assigned in EC Job Relationships. For employees without an HR Manager configured in EC Job Relationships, the CC field resolves as empty, which is expected behavior for both builders.
