3805510 - Sold-To Party address selection not available in VA01 when customer has maintained multiple addresses

Symptom

When creating a sales order in "Create sales order - VA01", the Sold-To Party address cannot be selected even though the Sold-To Party has multiple addresses maintained

Environment

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open VA01 and create a new sales order.
  2. Enter a customer that has multiple addresses maintained.
  3. Attempt to change the Sold-To Party address under the "Partners" tab. The address selection popup does not appear.

Cause

The procedure SO02 under the partner determination configuration for the Sales Document Header, has the Sold-To Party (SP) “Address Determination for Partner Function” set to XXDFLT, which restricts selection to the standard Business Partner address and suppresses the address selection popup.

Resolution

As per the official SAP documentation, to enable multiple address selection for the Sold-To Party, the field "Address Determination for Partner Function" should be set to BBP007 (Receive Sales Order / Order-Sending Address of Customer):

    1. Open SSCUI 101288 – Set Up Partner Determination for Sales Document Header.
    2. Navigate to Partner Determination Procedures → SO02 → Partner Functions in Procedure.
    3. Locate partner function 'SP' (Sold-To Party).
    4. Change the “Address Determination for Partner Function” value from XXDFLT to BBP007 (Receive Sales Order / Order-Sending Address of Customer).
    5. Save the configuration.
    6. Create a new sales order in VA01 with a customer that has multiple addresses and confirm that the address selection popup appears for the Sold-To Party.
