3805745 - Flexible workflow not triggered for specific document type

Symptom

  • After upgrading to SAP S/4HANA, the approval workflow for Purchase Requisitions (PRs) does not start for one or more PR document types that functioned correctly before the upgrade.
  • Event SOURCINGREQUESTED is raised for the affected document type instead of the expected event SUBMITTED_FOR_APPROVAL.
  • No workflow instance is created when a PR with the affected document type is saved.
  • No error message is displayed to the user; the PR saves successfully but workflow processing does not start.
  • Other PR document types using the same workflow template and configuration start the workflow correctly.
