3805996 - Numeric values display at incorrect scale in optimized story charts when calculated measure scale formatting is used in SAP Analytics Cloud

Symptom

  • After converting a classic story to the optimized story experience, numeric data labels in charts display at an incorrect scale (for example, values appear divided by 100).
  • The Scale setting in Formatting for a calculated measure does not apply in charts, while tables reflect the scale correctly.

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud 2026.15.6

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create or open a story that contains a chart and a table bound to the same model.
  2. Create a calculated measure.
  3. Open the calculated measure’s Format settings and set a Scale (for example, thousand).
  4. Observe that the table updates to the selected scale, but the chart’s data labels do not reflect the scale.
  5. Optionally convert an equivalent classic story to the optimized story experience and compare the same chart: numeric labels may appear approximately 1/100 of the values shown previously.

Cause

  • In the optimized story experience, charts do not correctly apply the Scale setting defined in the Formatting of calculated measures, which results in incorrectly scaled numeric labels.
