3806055 - Purge error: “DRTMLeonardomlUserObjectType: Failed to purge user from PLM system for ....”

Purge user with multiple employments had some successful records but there are some failed records, with this error:

“DRTMLeonardomlUserObjectType: Failed to purge user from PLM system for ....”  

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Core 

1. Log in to the instance
2. Create new purge request with Type: DRTM Master data Purge
3. Select ignore data retention time
4. Purge users
5. Check the attachment and see that there are some errors like: "DRTMLeonardomlUserObjectType: Failed to purge user from PLM system for ..."

• The issue occurred because the instance is integrated with Microsoft People Connection. As part of the user data purge process, a request is sent to the Microsoft system to delete the user's data there as well.
• At the time the purge was initiated, the Microsoft server was unavailable. As a result, the purge request received a 500 Internal Server Error, which prevented the user purge process from completing successfully.
• The Microsoft system has since been restored and is now operational. Therefore, the condition that caused the error is no longer present, and the user purge process should proceed successfully.
