Symptom

  • Data flow fails in sandbox with error
  • Error: "RFC function error <RFC_CONVERSION_FAILURE- Cannot convert byte value xxx at position xxx for xxx of type RFCTYPE_BCD 
  • The error occurs in reading from sap application source system
  • Error appears after a system copy for sap application Q system, which means the sap application P system got copied to Q system
