3806122 - How Mass Processing Works for Production Orders — COHV, Execution Modes, Functions, and Background Processing

Symptom

It is not clear how to execute functions (release, scheduling, costing, confirmations, TECO, close, etc.) for multiple production orders at once rather than one by one. Questions arise about what T-Code COHV does, which functions are available and for which object types (order headers, operations, components), how the four execution modes differ (immediately, with dialog, create request, background), how to schedule mass processing as a background job, how to process or delete requests using COWORKDISPATCHNEW, how to view logs, and how parallel processing is set up.
