Symptom
It is not clear how to manufacture co-products and by-products together with a main product in a single production order, or how their goods receipts and costs are handled. Questions arise about the difference between co-products and by-products, what prerequisites must be met in the material master and BOM before a co-product or by-product can appear in a production order, which movement types are used for each product type, how production costs are distributed among the main product and co-products via equivalence numbers, and which settlement rules (PP5/PP6) apply. It is also unclear whether the cost distribution can vary by cost element group and how the apportionment structure is defined.
