Symptom
It is not clear how external processing works for individual operations in a production order — specifically, how to configure an operation for external processing, what purchase documents are created automatically, how the procurement flow from purchase requisition to goods receipt works, what operation statuses are set after goods receipt, how scheduling handles external operations, how actual costs are posted, and how to provide components to the vendor for subcontracting. Questions also arise about what happens when dates or quantities in the order change after a purchase order has already been created, and which BAdIs are available for extending external processing behavior.
