3806205 - ME51N: Error GLT2201 "Balancing field 'Profit Center' not filled" when saving Purchase Requisition

Symptom

When saving a Purchase Requisition in transaction ME51N with Account Assignment Category J (Project), error GLT2201 "Balancing field 'Profit Center' in line item 001 not filled" is received. G/L Account, WBS Element, and Profit Center are maintained on the Account Assignment tab; however, the system does not consider the Profit Center during document validation and the Purchase Requisition cannot be saved.
