3806285 - Error VL864 "Error during copy of partner: Partner role SH" when creating delivery from Subcontracting Cockpit – SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

When creating an outbound delivery for a subcontracting purchase order using the Subcontracting Cockpit app, delivery creation fails with error:

VL864 – Error during copy of partner: Partner role SH

The subcontracting supplier is correctly assigned to a customer Business Partner, and partner function SH may already be maintained in the customer master.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open the Subcontracting Cockpit app.
2. Select the subcontracting purchase order item.
3. Choose Create Delivery.
4. Maintain the required storage location, shipping point and batch.
5. Choose Create Delivery.
6. Error VL864 is raised.

A mismatch may exist between the Sales Area used during delivery partner determination, derived from the plant’s shipping configuration, and the Sales Area maintained for the customer Business Partner.

Because the customer may not be extended to the Sales Area determined during delivery creation, the Ship-To Party (partner role SH) cannot be determined correctly, resulting in error VL864 – “Error during copy of partner: Partner role SH.”

Verify the Sales Area maintained in SSCUI 101926 – Define Shipping Data for Plants for the relevant plant.

Then verify that the customer Business Partner associated with the subcontracting supplier is maintained for the same combination of:

• Sales Organization
• Distribution Channel
• Division

If the Sales Area maintained in SSCUI 101926 is the intended configuration, extend the customer Business Partner to this Sales Area and maintain the required sales and partner data.

If a different Sales Area is intended for the plant, review and correct the plant shipping configuration accordingly.

After aligning the Sales Area configuration and customer master data, create the subcontracting delivery again.
