3806286 - Table shows "Failed to fetch data", and the console log show a data lock error in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

Symptom

  • When opening specific stories, the table does not show data on initial load.
  • The table displays the error: "Failed to fetch data."
  • After manually refreshing the story, the table returns data.
  • Console log when the issue occurs shows the error: “Error while fetching data locks state - TypeError: Cannot read properties of null (reading 'getQueryModel')”.
  • The issue is intermittent, but occurs most of the time.

SAP Analytics Cloud 2026.15.6

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log in to SAP Analytics Cloud.
  2. Open the story in view mode.
  3. Notice the table shows “Failed to fetch data” and no values are displayed.
  4. Manually refresh the story.
  5. Notice the table loads data after the refresh.
