3806494 - Subscription delivery fails with HTTP 401 unauthorized error when posting to external endpoint

Symptom

  • A download subscription configured with an httppost endpoint returns a delivery status of error with the following message:

    Server returned HTTP response code: 401 for URL: <endpoint URL>
    Delivery: Connection Error.
    An error occurred while delivering the file to the endpoint.
    Please check your endpoint URL, network connectivity, and server logs.

  • The document download stage completes successfully (Document Status: OK), while the delivery stage fails.
  • The SSL client certificate is valid and the endpoint configuration is correct. 
  • The error occurs across multiple consecutive scheduled runs and self-resolves without any changes on the SAP Fieldglass side.
