3806495 - Mass release of Investment Projects fails in Mass Changes to Projects — SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

• In the Mass Changes to Projects app, releasing Investment Projects cannot be performed.
• The same Investment Projects can be released via the Project Control app.
• Related messages include:
  • Message no. PSS4_MSG191: “Project cannot be released because required PSM account assignments (Functional Area, Fund, Grant, Procedure) are missing.”
  • Message AY130: “Source assignments for source structure are missing in the investment profile.”

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open the Mass Changes to Projects app.
2. Select one or more Investment Projects in Created status.
3. Choose Mass Change, navigate to Processing Status, and set the new value to Release.
4. Apply, provide a job name, and run the job.
5. The job finishes with errors and the projects remain unreleased, while releasing the same projects in the Project Control app succeeds.

Configuration for investment profiles with AuC per source assignment does not align with a valid model profile. In SSCUIs “Define Assignment of AuC Classes per Source Assignment” and “Create Source Structure,” the required source assignment entries are missing or inconsistent, leading to validation errors (for example, AY130) during mass release.

1. Identify the investment profile used by the affected Investment Projects and confirm that “AuC per source assignment” is active.
2. In configuration, open the following SSCUIs:
   a. 104256 - Define Assignment of AuC Classes per Source Assignment
   b. 104308 - Create Source Structure
3. Ensure that every source assignment defined in the source structure has a corresponding AuC class assignment in the investment profile (no missing entries or inconsistencies).
4. Compare with a working model investment profile for AuC per source assignment and align your settings accordingly and as closely as possible, especially on the source structure setup.
5. If used, verify that any cost element group referenced by the source structure is complete and mapped to valid accounts.
6. Save the configuration and re-run the Mass Changes to Projects job to release the Investment Projects.
