Symptom

An external payroll integration requires an API to create parked journal entries for review and approval before posting to the general ledger, but such functionality is not available.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Cause

No API exists that supports parking a journal entry; this is standard system behavior and the requested functionality is not available.

Resolution

  1. Note that an API to park journal entries is not available in the standard; only posting via API is supported.
  2. Use the “Verify General Journal Entries” app (F2547A) to park journal entries through the UI.
