3806955 - Email Summary Audit Report returns inconsistent results in non-UTC tim zones for same-day range

Symptom

Email Summary Audit Report CSV returns inconsistent or zero results for a same-day date range when the administrator’s Time Zone ID is set to a non-UTC zone (for example, JST or IST).

  • With Time Zone ID set to UTC, the same single-day date range returns records (for example, 1000 records).
  • In non-UTC time zones, using the same From and To date on the same calendar day can produce 0 records or a blank output.
  • Extending the End Date to the next calendar day (for example, From 1-Jul-2026 to 2-Jul-2026) returns the expected records across time zones.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors Learning

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Sign in to the SuccessFactors system.
  2. Access Learning Administration.
  3. Go to Preferences and set the Time Zone ID to UTC.
  4. Go to Reports -> Search for "Email Summary Audit Report CSV" -> Run the report with the same date range (e.g., From 1-July-2026 To 1-Jul-2026) -> Observe that the report returns records (e.g. 1,000 records)
  5. Change the admin's Time Zone ID to another zone (e.g., JST or IST).
  6. Run the report again with the same date range (e.g., From 1-July-2026 To 1-Jul-2026) -> Observe that the report returns 0 records.
  7. However, Expanding the End Date to the next day (e.g., From 1-July-2026 To 2-Jul-2026), report returns records (e.g. 1,000 records).

Cause

  • Report parameters for AuditDateRange were typed as date instead of dateTime in the BIRT library, which skipped timezone conversion and the end-of-day (+24h) offset.
  • The dataset SQL used a three-parameter null-check pattern that failed when BIRT passed integer sentinels for null string filters, resulting in zero rows.

Resolution

A code correction has been implemented to address the issue. The fix will be included in 2H 2026 (b2611) release. For information regarding release schedule, please refer to the SAP SuccessFactors Product Release & Road Map.

As a temporary workaround until the fix is available, when running the report in non-UTC time zones, set the End Date to the next calendar day to capture the intended single-day period.
