Symptom
After posting a source document in SAP Business ByDesign, the corresponding Journal Entry is not created immediately. A delay of approximately 1–3 minutes may occur before the Journal Entry is created.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Post a relevant source document in SAP Business ByDesign.
- Note the creation date and time of the source document.
- Navigate to the document flow tab and click on the Journal Entry icon.
- Check the creation date and time of the corresponding Journal Entry.
- Observe that the Journal Entry may be created approximately 1–3 minutes after the source document is posted.
Cause
The Journal Entry creation is processed through asynchronous background processing. Therefore, the Journal Entry may not be created immediately after the source document is posted.
The processing time may vary depending on system workload, background processing or background job schedules.
Resolution
The observed delay of approximately 1–3 minutes between source document posting and the creation of the corresponding Journal Entry is standard system behavior in SAP Business ByDesign.
No corrective action is required for this standard processing delay.
