Symptom
- Calling refreshData() after running a data action from an input control onSelect causes unchanged planning cells to appear as modified (yellow highlight).
- Since 22.07.2026, the .refreshData() API highlights cells in yellow even when their values did not change after the data action.
- Previously, yellow highlighting occurred only when data changed due to a data action or a manual entry.
- Newly calculated data must display automatically without manual refresh by the user.
Environment
- SAP Analytics Cloud
Reproducing the Issue
- Use an input control for the company dimension in a story.
- In the input control onSelect scripting, first run one or more data actions and then call table refresh (for example, .refreshData()) to show results without manual toolbar refresh.
- Observe that table cells within the data action scope are highlighted yellow as modified even when their values did not change.
Cause
A known bug caused unchanged planning cells to be marked as modified after refreshData() following a data action.
Resolution
- Update to a release that contains the fix: Wave 2026.8.13, Wave 2026.14 (next patch), or Wave 2026.15 (QRC), where the correction is included.
- After the update is applied, validate that unchanged cells are no longer highlighted as modified after running the data action and refreshing the table.
- If an immediate update is not possible, note that no workaround is available based on current information.
