Symptom
- Unable to see some sub-nodes (for example, Element, XML attribute) while creating a Netherlands payment format based on another country’s format.(For example: Australia)
- Issue observed when attempting to map the Netherlands payment format in DMEE.
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
- Open transaction DMEE.
- Locate and open payment format NL_CGI_XML_CT.
- Review the node structure and observe that certain sub-nodes (for example, Element, XML attribute) are not available.
Reference: 1 (The highlighted nodes are not available in the Netherland payment format NL_CGI_XML_CT_V9)
Cause
The payment format structure and sub-nodes are country-specific and not necessarily identical across countries; therefore, sub-nodes present in another country’s format may not exist in the Netherlands definition.
Resolution
- Do not use another country’s payment format as a direct template for the Netherlands; the XML structure and required fields differ by country/bank requirements.
- Verify and use the SAP-delivered Netherlands format as the baseline (for example, NL_CGI_XML_CT_V9) instead of manually recreating the structure from another country.
- Acknowledge that “missing” sub-nodes are expected if they are not part of the standard Netherlands-specific definition; customize only where supported.
- For the latest available payment formats and corresponding updates, refer to KBA: 2253571 - Collective information note: CGI_XML_CT, CGI_XML_DD extended with BAdI enhancement.
SAP has rolled out the update KBA: 3691990 - CGI: CGI_XML_CT, CGI_XML_DD Format Updates #50 to meet mandatory structured address in all XML formats which will be mandatory from Nov 2026
