3807341 - Duplicate telephone, mobile, and email rows in "Manage Business Partner Master Data" app display and the entries cannot be deleted

Symptom

  • In the Manage Business Partner Master Data app, telephone, mobile phone, and email values appear duplicated in display mode.
  • Duplicate rows cannot be deleted from the app.
  • Duplicates may appear after adding contact data in "Maintain Business Partner" and then viewing in "Manage Business Partner Master Data".
  • The issue does not occur consistently.
  • No error messages are shown.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Add an email/phone to a business partner using app "Maintain Business Partner".
  2. Open the same business partner in app "Manage Business Partner Master Data".
  3. Navigate to Address Details and observe duplicate rows for telephone, mobile, and/or email in display mode; switching to edit mode shows a single entry.

Cause

The same address data is maintained in two language variants (for example, language values “N” and “E”). The CDS views consumed by app "Manage Business Partner Master Data" returns duplicate rows in display mode for these language variants, while edit mode de-duplicates the view. The underlying address/communication persistence contains a single unique record.

Resolution

  1. Planned fix: A correction is scheduled for SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition release 2702.
  2. Interim workaround:
    1. Use Edit mode in Manage Business Partner Master Data to review/change contact data, as edit mode removes duplicates from the view.
    2. Refrain from performing mass changes from the display list when duplicates are visible.
  3. If new occurrences arise, capture timestamps and exact steps taken so they can be correlated with backend records during analysis.
  4. Open a case under LO-MD-BP-2CL component for further analysis.
