3807472 - No automatic email notification when Supplier Down Payment Request is posted in S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Symptom

  • No automatic notification is sent when a Supplier Down Payment Request (DPR) is posted.
  • Users must manually monitor apps/reports to identify newly created DPRs.
  • Relevant users are expected to receive an immediate email once the document is posted.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Post a Supplier Down Payment Request (DPR).
  2. Observe that no automatic email notification is sent to any user.
  3. Manually check the relevant app/report to confirm the DPR creation.

Cause

There is no standard automatic email notification event for “DPR posted” in the current functionality; available notifications are tied to approval workflow events (for example: submission, approval, rejection).

Resolution

  1. Configure an approval workflow for Supplier Down Payment Requests using the Manage Workflows – Supplier Down Payment Requests (F7100) app to leverage workflow-driven notifications.
  2. Define workflow conditions and recipient determination for the DPR approval process.
  3. Set up email notifications and templates for the workflow events (submission/approval/rejection/sent-back) so that designated users receive emails when those events occur.
  4. Note the current limitation: an immediate email specifically on “DPR posted” to arbitrary recipients is not supported in standard.
  5. If an email on the posting event is mandatory, submit an feature request via Customer Influence to request a new notification event for DPR posting through the Customer Influence website. Select SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, Finance to proceed.
