3807580 - Custom RA key not copied to new company codes causing “Maintain a valuation rule” error in Event-Based Revenue Recognition

Symptom

  • A custom recognition key (RA key) created via expert configuration is not available in newly created company codes.
  • When using the RA key with a new company code, the system issues the error: "Maintain a valuation rule for acc. principle XXXX and RA key YYYYY if required".
  • Request to copy/extend the custom RA keys to new company codes for required accounting principles.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

Cause

  • The valuation rule for the RA key was not maintained for the relevant accounting principles in the newly created company codes.
  • Custom Z* RA keys are not automatically extended to newly created company codes.

Resolution

  1. Identify all newly created company codes and the accounting principles that must use the custom RA key.
  2. For any future new company codes, request expert configuration to extend custom RA keys when adding new company codes.
