3807776 - Cannot save due date change in Global Onboarding Program - screen stuck on loading when submitting - Onboarding

• Updating the due date of a task in the Global Onboarding Program results in an endless loading screen after clicking Submit.
• Changes are not saved.
• Browser console shows: "Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'xxx')".
• Browser console may also show: "Error: A listener indicated an asynchronous response by returning true, but the message channel closed before a response was received".

 SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding

1. Sign in with permissions to configure Onboarding programs.
2. Go to Manage Onboarding and Offboarding Tasks.
3. Open Manage Onboarding Program and select the Global Onboarding Program.
4. Edit a task (for example, “Request IT Equipment and Systems Access”) and change the due date.
5. Click Submit.
6. Observe the screen remains on loading and the change is not saved.

• A Buddy task within the program has an automatic email notification setting that is read during Submit. A missing value in this configuration causes an unhandled error (“cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'xxx')”), preventing the program from saving any changes.

1. Option 1 — Temporarily disable the affected task (recommended):

1) Open Manage Onboarding and Offboarding Tasks → Manage Onboarding Program.

2) Edit the Global Onboarding Program and set the Buddy activity to Not Used (or remove it).

3) Submit.

4) Reopen the program, make the intended due date change, and Submit.

5) Re-enable and reconfigure the Buddy activity as needed, then Submit.

Option 2 — Reinitialize the Buddy activity:

1) Open the program.

2) Edit only the Buddy task (make a minor change or confirm with no change).

3) Submit.

4) Reopen and perform the intended due date change, then Submit.

Option 3 — Remove and re-add the Buddy task:

1) Remove the Buddy task and Submit.

2) Re-add the Buddy task with the desired configuration and Submit.
