3807978 - Service Catalog and Service Category Cannot Be Transported Using Change Project in SAP Sales and Service Cloud Version 2

Symptom

You attempt to transport Service Catalog or Service Category configuration from one system to another using the Change Project transport mechanism in SAP Sales and Service Cloud Version 2. However, the Service Catalog and Service Category are not available in the list of registered services under the Change Project settings and cannot be added to a transport request.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log on to the SAP Sales and Service Cloud Version 2 system.
  2. Navigate to Settings > All Settings > Change Project > Registered Services.
  3. Observe that Service Catalog is not listed among the available registered services.

Cause

Service Catalog and Service Category are not part of the Change Project scope by design. As a result, these objects are not registered as transportable services, do not appear in the Settings > All Settings > Change Project > Registered Services list.

Resolution

Since Service Catalog and Service Category cannot be transported via the Change Project mechanism, the recommended approach is to use the Data Import and Export tool to migrate this configuration between systems. To do this, export the Service Catalog and Service Category data from the source system using the Data Import and Export export function, then import the exported file into each target system individually, such as QA and PROD, using the Data Data Import and Export import function. This manual migration step must be performed separately for each target system in the landscape.
