3808124 - COGI: Entries Disappear After "Save for Background" and Are Not Processed

• In the Reprocess Goods Movements (COGI) app, after selecting entries and clicking "Save for Background", the entries disappear from the list.
• The message "Entries are selected for background job" is displayed.
• The goods movement entries are not processed after this action.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open the 'Reprocess Goods Movements' (COGI) app.
2. Select entries, right‑click, and choose “Save for background”.
3. Observe that the entries disappear and the message “Entries are selected for background job” appears; the errors remain unprocessed.

This is standard system behaviour. When the "Save for Background" option is used in the Reprocess Goods Movements (COGI) app, the selected entries are removed from the COGI display and queued in the AFFW table for background processing.

The entries remain unprocessed because no background job or manual processing step has been configured to handle the queued entries stored in AFFW.

The queued entries in AFFW can be processed using one of the following options:

• Option 1: Manual processing: Open the Predefined Confirmation Processes (CO1P) app and process the queued entries.
  
  
• Option 2: Automatic processing (recommended): In the Schedule Posting of Predefined Confirmation Processes (F5255) app, schedule a recurring background job to process entries queued in AFFW at the desired frequency.

If postings still fail, correct the underlying causes (for example, stock shortage, closed posting period, missing master data) in the Reprocess Goods Movements (COGI) app and reprocess.
