3808162 - Object with no Child Association not displaying values from Picklist fields. Will only show the values in the History page

• In a custom MDF portlet, data entries are saved successfully to History but do not display on the UI.
• Deleting existing values and reloading the data does not change the outcome; data still fails to display on the UI.
• No error message is shown.

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Core

1. Enter and save data for a user in the custom MDF portlet.
2. Open the portlet History and confirm the saved data is present.
3. Return to the portlet UI (including View All) and observe that the saved value is not displayed.

• The fields that are displaying inconsistently are Picklist data types.
• The Picklist value referenced by a field on the custom MDF object has an effective start date later than the record’s effective start date. Because the value is not yet effective on the record date, it is not rendered on the UI, although it appears in History.

1. Identify the field(s) on the custom MDF object that are not displaying values on the UI and confirm they reference a picklist.
2. Open the corresponding Picklist configuration via Picklist Center and locate the specific Picklist value used by the record. You can check what Picklist Value it is referring to by checking on the Details of the Picklist field in Configure Object Definition under "Valid Value Source".
3. Check the Effective Start Date of that Picklist value and compare it to the effective date of the MDF record.
4. If the picklist value’s Effective Start Date is later than the record’s effective date, change the picklist value’s effective start date to a date on or before the record’s effective date. This is normally set to 01/01/1900
5. Alternatively, update the MDF record to use a Picklist value that is already effective on the record’s effective date.
6. Save the changes and refresh the portlet. Verify on the UI (and View All) that the value now displays as expected.
