3808292 - Error FINS_ACDOC_DB007 “External document numbers starting with character G are internally used by SAP” in app Change Billing Documents

Symptom

In app Change Billing Documents, error FINS_ACDOC_DB007 “External document numbers starting with character G are internally used by SAP” occurred.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

1.In app Change Billing Documents, enter Billing Document=G****.

2.Error FINS_ACDOC_DB007 “External document numbers starting with character G are internally used by SAP” occurred.

Cause

The starting letter G for external number ranges is reserved for postings to technical ledger (such as profit center valuation and actual costing). It is not allowed to create documents with external document numbers starting with character G.

Resolution

Define a different external document number range for number range object RF_BELEG.
