Symptom
- Automatic Payment Program generated a payment although the centrally maintained payment block for the supplier was set to “Yes”.
- In the supplier’s company code data (Finance), the payment status was “No”, and the payment was processed based on this status.
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
- Maintain the supplier centrally and set the payment block to “Yes”.
- In Company Code Data → Finance for the relevant company code, ensure the payment status is “No”.
- Post a supplier invoice for this supplier.
- Run the Automatic Payment Program.
- Observe that a payment is created/processed despite the central payment block.
Cause
The field Payment Block in table LFA1 is not used in the SAP Standard System. Furthermore, it will not be used by the payment program either. Thus, even if it is maintained, this would not block payments.
Resolution
Use the Payment block on company code level. ( LFB1-ZAHLS )
- Go to transaction BP
- Select the vendor role.
- Go to Company code level
- Go to Tab 'Vendor: Payment transactions'
- Set the Payment block ( LFB1-ZAHLS )
