Symptom
- In Opportunity > Contacts, the Function column is blank for added contacts even though a function is maintained for the contact.
- E-mail and phone fields display correctly in the same view.
Environment
- Product: SAP Cloud for Customer core applications
- Contact: user
Reproducing the Issue
- Log on to the system.
- Navigate to Sales > Opportunities.
- Open an opportunity that has a contact added in the Contacts facet.
- Go to the Contacts tab and observe that the Function column is empty.
- Open the same contact in its object and observe that the Function is maintained.
Cause
The contact is not linked to the opportunity’s account (opportunity header account missing or different), so the Function value cannot be derived for the Opportunity context.
Resolution
- Open the affected opportunity.
- In the header, verify that the Account is maintained.
- If the account is missing or incorrect, add/select the correct account for the opportunity.
- Ensure the contact is assigned to this same account and that a Function is maintained for the contact-to-account relationship.
- Add or re-add the contact to the opportunity.
- Return to Opportunity > Contacts and verify that the Function column now displays the value.
