Symptom
- In the Latest Performance Experience, Learning Activities linked to Development Goals show predefined status colors that do not match the colors configured via style attributes on the status enum in the Learning Activity XML.
- Status labels from the XML are honored, but the configured colors are not applied in the UI.
- Example: Planned configured as red and Completed as blue in XML, but UI displays Planned as blue and Completed as green.
- Browser inspection shows the status rendered with ObjectStatus and data-state="Information" (for Planned), indicating semantic color styling is applied by the UI.
Environment
- Product: SAP SuccessFactors Succession & Development
- Learning Activity Plan (LMS)
- Latest Performance Experience
- Development Goals and Performance Forms with linked Learning Activities
Reproducing the Issue
- Open the Learning Activity template.
- Navigate to the status field definition and set:
- Planned with style="background:#FF0000;color:#FFFFFF" and label changed to a distinct value (for example, MY PLANNED TEST).
- Completed with style="background:#0000FF;color:#FFFFFF".
- Save/upload the Learning Activity template.
- Create a new Learning Activity from this template and link it to a Development Goal.
- Open the Development Goal or a linked Performance Form in the Latest Performance Experience and go to the Learning Activities section.
- Observe that the updated labels are displayed, but the status colors remain blue for Planned and green for Completed, ignoring the XML-defined colors.
- Set another Learning Activity to Completed and observe that it remains green despite the XML configuration.
Cause
- Working as designed: the Latest Performance Experience applies Fiori semantic color conventions to Learning Activity statuses instead of XML-defined style attributes.
- Planned is rendered with the Fiori “Information” semantic color (blue); other statuses (for example, In Progress, Completed) are rendered with the Fiori “Positive” semantic color (green).
- Color rendering is controlled by semantic color tokens in the UI, not by form XML configuration.
Resolution
- Note that color customization of Learning Activity status badges via XML is not supported in the Latest Performance Experience; this is expected behavior.
- If support for XML-driven status colors is desired, submit an enhancement request for product consideration.
- Refer to the enhancement request process and submit the idea, then track/vote on it in the customer influence portal.
