3809362 - Unable to Edit HTTP API Connections in SAP Analytics Cloud

Symptom

  • Users are unable to edit HTTP API connections even though the connection is shared with edit permissions.
  • Users with Admin role can successfully edit the same connection.

Environment

SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log into SAC and share a connection with a user, granting edit permissions.
  2. Observe that the user cannot edit the connection, as the edit button is disabled.
  3. Assign the Admin role to the user and attempt again, editing becomes possible.

Cause

The user’s role does not include the Connection permissions Update and Maintain. The Manage permission alone does not grant the ability to edit HTTP API connection configurations.

Resolution

  1. Log into SAC and open the role assigned to the affected user.
  2. Navigate to the Connection permissions section within the role.
  3. Ensure the following permissions are enabled:
    • Update
    • Maintain
  4. Save the updated role settings.

Recommendation: For comprehensive lifecycle management of connections, it is advisable to grant the role the following permissions: Read, Create, Update, Maintain, and Manage.
