3809581 - Understanding automatic comments in HANA configuration .ini files after parameter changes

Symptom

Following comments are found in top of HANA configuration ini files in following path. 

  • System: <sapmnt>/<SID>/SYS/global/hdb/custom/config

  • Database: <sapmnt>/<SID>/SYS/global/hdb/custom/config/DB_<dbname>

  • Host: /usr/sap/<SID>/HDB<instance>/<hostname>

e.g.

# <service name>.ini last modified YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS.****** by <>
# Last changes made:
# YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS.****** setting [<section>]/<parameter>="<value>" (was "<previous value>")
