Symptom
When using the Revalue function in the Event-Based Revenue Recognition – Projects App (F4767), the COS Adjustment appears as 0. However, when click Enter Temporary Adjustment function without making any changes and clicking Simulate, the COS Adjustment is shown as a difference value.
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
- Open the Event-Based Revenue Recognition – Projects App (F4767).
- Select the following:
- Company Code
- Ledger
- Accounting Principle
- Fiscal Period
- Revenue Recognition Object: WBS element relevant
- Navigate to Revalue → Simulate. The COS Adjustment appears as 0.
- Click to Enter Temporary Adjustment function. The COS Adjustment is shown as a difference value.
Cause
The posting difference is of type Foreign Currency Valuation with business transaction type RFCV. This transaction type is not natively supported by Event-Based Revenue Recognition. Because the G/L account belonging to this posting was included in Semantic Tag ACT_COST, it appeared in the Fiori application. However, the backend calculation excludes it, which causes the discrepancy.
Resolution
The behavior is expected. The Foreign Currency Valuation posting (business transaction type RFCV) is not supported by Event-Based Revenue Recognition. The G/L account assigned to Semantic Tag ACT_COST causes it to display in the app, but the backend excludes it from the calculation. No further action is required from an application perspective.
