3809764 - Import of SAP Content Network content fails when Classic Stories are hidden in SAP Analytics Cloud

When importing SAP Content Network content into an SAC tenant, the import fails with the following behavior:

- Importing the package "Integrated Financial Planning for SAP S/4HANA" returns the message "Import failed".

- The failure occurs regardless of which overwrite option is selected during import.

- Error details may indicate that deprecated / classic stories are blocking the import.

- Deprecated classic stories are still visible under Administration → Overview, but cannot be deleted through the UI.

- Classic Stories can no longer be found in the folders where they were previously saved.

SAP Analytics Cloud 2026.11 and above (from QRC3 – 2026 release waves)

1. Open Content Network in SAC.

2. Search for "Integrated Financial Planning for SAP S/4HANA".

3. Select Import Options.

4. Choose any of the overwrite options.

5. Click Import.

6. Observe the message "Import failed".

When classic assets are hidden, the import validation cannot access or reconcile the classic-story artifacts contained in the package. Because the import validates the entire package (not only the visible objects), any inaccessible classic-story artifact causes the whole import to fail with the generic "Import failed" message.

1. Log in to the SAP Analytics Cloud tenant with a user that has admin rights.

2. Navigate to System → Administration.

3. Open the System Configuration tab and click Edit.

4. Enable the option: Access content created in the Classic Experience.

5. Acknowledge the deprecation warning dialog (confirming this option is for migration purposes only).

6. Save the change.

7. Retry the Content Network import of Integrated Financial Planning for SAP S/4HANA. The import now completes successfully.

Important Notes :

- This toggle is a temporary, last-resort migration path only and must not be used for ongoing productive work.

- The Classic Experience is no longer maintained; leaving classic assets in productive use risks regressions.

- The toggle is subject to removal during the 2026 Q4 timeframe.

- Access is on a strict need-to-know basis and should not be shared externally.

- Its usage is actively monitored by SAP Development.

- Recommended: Complete migration of Classic Stories to the Optimized Experience, then disable the toggle to return the tenant to a compliant state.
