3810064 - All Planned Orders Carry the Same Configuration When Using Strategy 56 / Characteristics-Based Forecasting (CBF) for Configurable Materials

Symptom

When using Planning Strategy 56 with a configurable material (material type KMAT or equivalent) in a Make-to-Stock (MTS) scenario, all planned orders created by MRP receive the same characteristic value combination, regardless of how many different characteristic combinations were entered as supporting points in the Planning Table (transaction MDP1).

The expected behavior is that MRP generates separate planned orders per forecasted characteristic combination.
