3810381 - Login Name Missing in User Header for Multiple-Assignment Users After Contingent Worker to Employee Conversion

Symptom

  • The username/login name is missing next to the user's name in brackets in the user header for a user with multiple assignments.
  • The behavior is observed after converting a contingent worker to an employee.
  • The login name is visible in global search results for the same user.
  • No error message or error code is shown.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to the affected user.
  2. Open the user's profile/header.
  3. Verify that the user has multiple open employments/assignments.
  4. Review the user header.
  5. Observe that the user's name is displayed, but the username/login name is not displayed next to the name in brackets.
  6. Search for the same user using the global search bar.
  7. Observe that the login name is displayed correctly in the search results.
  8. Confirm that the viewer has the required Login Name permission in Role-Based Permissions for the relevant target population.
  9. Compare with another user who has multiple employments/assignments.
  10. Observe that the comparison user displays the login name correctly in the header.

Cause

  • A known gap can occur after converting a contingent worker to an employee. Following the conversion, the PersonId may not be updated immediately, resulting in a temporary data discrepancy that prevents the username/login name from being rendered in the user header.
  • The login name itself may still exist and be retrievable by the system, which is why it can appear correctly in Global Header Search.

Resolution

  1. Confirm that the affected user was recently converted from a contingent worker to an employee.
  2. Confirm that the login name exists and is available in the system, for example, by searching for the user using the Global Header Search.
  3. Verify that the required Login Name permission is granted through Role-Based Permissions for the relevant target population.
  4. Run the scheduled migration job "Company Job for Setting Account UUID (Do Not Terminate)" to synchronize the affected account data.
  5. This job synchronizes the personIdExternal and personUuid fields in the Account table, allowing the relevant PersonId/account mapping to be corrected.
  6. After the job completes successfully, reopen the affected user's profile/header and verify that the username/login name is displayed next to the user's name in brackets.
  7. If the customer does not have Provisioning access, they will not be able to run the job manually. In this situation, raise an incident with SAP Support and request that the job be executed on the customer's behalf.
