3810863 - Unable to place an empty SFTP file when there is no record - Integration Center

Symptom

You are using Integration Center job to output data to SFTP every day.

After that your downstream would read this SFTP file, and it requires a file on the SFTP.

When there is no satisfied record from the Integration Center job, no file is generated on SFTP. This may lead to issue on your downstream side.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors HCM

  • Integration Center

Cause

If there is no satisfied record from the Integration Center job, it's by design that no file is generated on SFTP.

Currently there is no such option to place an empty file on SFTP in this case.

Resolution

You may consider workarounds like below to help avoid the issue here:

(1) (Use any tool or manually) Upload the empty file before the job executes. The job will overwrite this file when there is any record.

In case the job has no output, the empty file remains on SFTP.

(2) You may consider to always put a dummy/testing user record in the job output. This ensures the job will always generate a file on SFTP.
