3810928 - Updates to data actions after migrating from classic account model to new model type (measures) – SAP Analytics Cloud

Symptom

  • After migrating from a classic account-based model to the new model type (measures), existing data actions require updates.
  • Steps referencing [d/Account] or account members do not return expected results.
  • Data initially appears only under a default measure named "SignedData".
  • Calculated results and currency-converted values referenced by data actions are not available until redefined in the new model.

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud

Reproducing the Issue

Cause

Resolution

  1. Update dimension references in data actions and advanced formulas from Account to Measures (for example, replace [d/Account] = "AccountA" with [d/Measures] = "MeasureA").
  2. For cross-model copy steps, use the LINK function, which supports both classic account models and models with measures as source or target.
  3. Account for migrated data landing in the default measure "SignedData" and create a data action or multi-action to redistribute values into the correct target measures, filtered as needed (for example, by version or product).
  4. Recreate calculated accounts as calculated measures and repoint any data action logic to these new calculated measures.
  5. If currency conversion was used, re-enable currency conversion in the new model, redefine conversion measures, and update data action steps to reference the new conversion measures.
  6. Validate and test all updated data actions to confirm expected results before publishing.
