Symptom

Error: "Something went wrong while converting the story to Optimized Design Experience. Please create an SAP incident for investigation. " when converting a Story report to ODE. 

Environment

SAP Analytics Cloud 

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log in to the SAC tenant.
  2. Access the story.
  3. From the tool bar select "Convert to Optimized story experience".
  4. Choose "Save" or "Save as" option; 
    >> Notice the error message: "Something went wrong while converting the story to Optimized Design Experience. Please create an SAP incident for investigation. "

Cause

Exception during conversion due to the fact that filter on cross calculation is referencing a missing entity.

Resolution

Edit the corrupted filter to select the new value.
