What is Manual Build?

In SAP Concur Travel, manual build is a booking setup method used when the system does not automatically transfer the complete traveler profile into the GDS (Global Distribution System). When a travel configuration is set to Manual Build, Concur Travel does not use the PAR Level integration to load profile information from the GDS. Instead, the system moves only basic traveler profile information from the Concur user profile, along with the company profile lines, into the booking.

All additional profile data required for booking (e.g., frequent flyer details, credit cards, passport, preferences) must be managed and completed directly by the TMC (Travel Management Company) in the GDS.

This setup means:

  • SAP Concur passes only limited traveler information (such as name, email, and phone number).
  • Company profile lines configured in Concur are inserted into the booking.
  • The TMC is responsible for enriching the PNR with all other required information.

Manual build is typically used in configurations where:

  • A profile template is not in place or cannot be used.
  • The TMC handles specific fields directly in the GDS.
  • There are unique customer requirements that make automated profile mapping unsuitable.

SAP Concur for a manual build of the PNR does not add any custom field information since there is no profile to be moved into the GDS
