3816798 - Why do I get the Split Faring option only after I select an air fare?

Symptom

When searching Air:

  • by Price and clicking on a certain fare, or
  • by Schedule, selecting the flights then clicking on a certain fare.
Only then does the user get the "Searching for lower fare for these flights" popup.
