Symptom
When a traveler books a trip and places it on user hold, the booking is kept open for a set period. If the traveler does not complete or ticket the trip before the hold deadline, the trip is automatically canceled and a notification e-mail is sent.
Previously, both the warning e-mail (notifying the traveler that their deadline is approaching) and the auto-cancellation process were managed by legacy Concur Travel - even for trips booked in New Concur Travel. With the August 2026 release, these processes are now handled directly by New Concur Travel for eligible trips.
In addition, Trip History has been enhanced to provide greater visibility into the lifecycle of user-held trips:
- When a trip reaches its hold expiration deadline, the hold reminder is recorded in Trip History.
- When the hold period expires, the trip's automatic cancellation is also reflected in Trip History, if auto-cancellation is enabled in the system configuration.
