3822959 - Why email for approval and email for report expiration send on the same day?

One report submitted on 13 May, a reminder email was sent to Approver when it was passed the deadline. However, the same time the reminder email for approval was sent, the expense report was escalated to Trent, Approver's manager and so there was no opportunity for Approver to approve the report. 

I was wondering how this can be avoided in the future?

Email reminder's condition should be changed to "not within today -2" instead of "not within today -3" , KBA , CON-CA-ADM , Administration , Problem
