3823626 - Why 350 import record is not updating Custom Fields in user profile?

Symptom

We are running employee import 305 and 350 from the Import/ Extract Monitor few times per month.
Since a while we have noticed that one of the travel custom fields in the user profile is not filled in, when new employees were uploaded. This is causing issues with the profile sync between Concur and our Travel agency, as they are using the data from this field. How can we resolve this?
