3827416 - Why am I receiving the error message "This field requires a numeric value"?

Symptom

While inserting an Expense inside and Expense Report, I get an error message that says "This field requires a numeric value":

"This field requires a numeric value" error message

But as can be seen in the image above, the numeric field "Amount" actually has a numeric value in it. SGD 40.70 .
