Symptom
A financial document failed to post in SAP due to an error related to the cash advance (CA) account code. In most cases, the error message points to a mismatch between the CA account code in the employee profile and the codes used in the CA issuance and the expense report where the CA is utilized. This mismatch typically occurs when the CA account code is changed in SAP, after a CA issuance has already been posted.
You may encounter one of the following errors to identify this issue:
SAP ICS Posting Failed Error: 507(F5): G/L Account <gl account> is not defined in chart of accounts <chart of accounts>
SAP ICS Posting Failed Error: 140(CTE_FIN_POSTING): Posting failed due to missing content. Please check CLEARING_ACCOUNT_CODE with ID XXXXX
To resolve posting failures caused by mismatched CA account codes, follow the steps provided in the Resolution/Answer section.
Important: a posting failure could occur not only due to Concur configuration but also due to the SAP configuration. Therefore, troubleshooting is necessary to identify the root cause of the issue.
Before creating a support ticket with SAP Concur:
- Please contact your system administrators and check your system configurations on both the SAP and Concur side.
- It is important to verify the data transmitted in JSON format from Concur to the SAP FI System: How can I verify the data sent from Concur to SAP ICS (JSON file)?
