3829301 - How does the Amount Calculation Formula for Expense Types work?

Symptom

One of my expense type is using the Amount Calculation Formula to calculate amounts, may I know how it works?
Formula example:
result_t = C3 * (V_A1)
result_t = C1 * .59

Environment
